چکیده
Wastes of Glass are recognized as pozzolanic material. This study aims to investigate utilization local glass wastes in Sudan supplementary cementitious materials. Two specimens having different colors procured from a source namely Sudanese Emirati and Metal Company (SEGMAL). Then thy ground micro sizes producing two types powders, clear white powder (W-GP) colored (C-GP). The Specimens characterized using tests specified American Society for Testing Materials ASTM C311. These include chemical properties X-ray Fluorescence (XRF), Loss on Ignition (LOI), Insoluble Residue (IR), also physical such fineness, specific gravity, water requirement, strength activity index (SAI). shows that at 7 days W-GP C-GP produced SAI 84% 87% 7-days respectively. values more than the 75% SAI’s requirements C618. Both have outperformed control OPC mix 28 by 108.68% 123.82% GP-W GP-C

EFFICIENCY FACTOR OF SUPPLEMENTARY CEMENTITIOUS MATERIALS: A STATE OF ART
The use of supplementary cementing materials is gradually increasing due to technical, economical, and environmental benefits. Supplementary cementitious materials (SCM) are most commonly used in producing ready mixed concrete (RMC). A quantitative understanding of the efficiency of SCMs as a mineral admixture in concrete is essential for its effective utilisation. The performance and effective...

Reducing the consumption of cement with simultaneous utilizing waste materials as cement replacement is preferred for reasons of environmental protection. Blended cements consist of different supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs), such as fly ash, silica fume, Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS), natural pozzolans, etc. These materials should be chemically activated to show effec...

Hydraulic activity refers to a property most familiar when discussing hydraulic cement such as ordinary portland cement (OPC). ASTM C125-15a defines hydraulic cement as “a cement that sets and hardens by chemical reaction with water and is capable of doing so under water.” That is, hydraulic cements, including SCMs that have hydraulic properties, react with water to harden, and that hardening p...
متن کاملUtilization of recycled post consumer carpet waste fibers as reinforcement in lightweight cementitious composites
Purpose – A large amount of post-consumer carpet waste is discarded into landfills. The need to recycle this waste is increasing due to the lack of available landfill spaces in many parts of the world, environmental concerns, and resource conservation. The purpose of this paper is to explore the use of this waste for a low-cost, high-volume application. Design/methodology/approach – Fibers from...
